- Search queries you enter: Used to search for places via Google Places API.
- Location data of searched places: The latitude and longitude of places you search for, not your device’s location.
- Establishment details: Name, address, and rating of places you search for.
- DineSafe inspection status: Retrieved from the DineSafe Toronto Open Data API for establishments you search for.
Note: The App does not collect or store your personal information, device location, or any data unrelated to your search queries.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide the Dine Safely functionality: The App uses your search queries to find establishments, retrieve their details, and display their DineSafe inspection status.
- Improve the App: Aggregated, non-personal usage data may be used to improve accuracy and performance.
How We Share Your Information
We do not share your information with any third-party companies or organizations. We use Branch to facilitate deep linking. Branch may collect a device identifier accessed only by Dine Safely. Data that you enter into the app, for example for searching an establishment, is only sent to Google Places API and the DineSafe Toronto Open Data API to retrieve establishment and inspection information.
Your Choices
- You may uninstall the App at any time to stop all data collection.

Information We Collect
- URL of the webpage you are visiting: To determine if the webpage is a Google Places search engine results page (SERP).
- Content of the webpage: To identify the establishment name and address from the SERP.
- Establishment name and address: Sent to the DineSafeTO API to retrieve the establishment’s inspection status.
- Establishment inspection status: Displayed on the SERP next to the establishment name and address.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide the DineSafeTO functionality: The Extension uses the establishment name and address to retrieve the inspection status from the DineSafe Toronto API and display it on the SERP.
- Improve the Extension: We may use the information we collect to improve the accuracy and performance of the Extension.
How We Share Your Information
We do not share your information with any third-party companies or organizations.
Your Choices
- You can disable or remove the Extension at any time via your browser settings.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on our website.
